Alex Pauli Q2 Project

I had a lot of fun working on this project. It was exciting to take something from the ground up and make it completely my own. Dreamweaver is a difficult program, and setting everything up was really a process. The code is confusing and I don’t think I fully understand it yet, but I did enjoy using it. Another tough aspect of this project was the amount of steps everything took. Even just these simple three screenshots took me a long time. I’d like to keep using this program so I can get better and know what I’m doing. Maybe someday I can even create my own functioning website!

E9 Elevator Pitch

What characteristics are you most interested in when hiring an applicant? I can guarantee you that I will satisfy or exceed your expectations.

I’m a hard worker and a problem solver. I am persistent and will try to complete everything I am tasked with to the best of my abilities. I work well alone or in a group setting, depending on the project at hand. Some of my best personal traits include being intelligent, a leader, a quick-learner, an achiever, and a competitor.

I taught myself a video editing program and created many sports videos for my friends to enjoy. I began creating these in 6th grade and have continued with longer films. Take a look at http://07apman.wixsite.com/ap-ecomm-edits. If you have any questions, or would like to contact me for other reasons, you can do so by email at 884aap07@students.olatheschools.com.

Thank you for your time, and I hope that you will take me into consideration when choosing a new employee!

Logo

I started this project by brainstorming ideas for different shapes and designs that my logo could be. Trying to come up with one solid idea that I really liked was tough, but I ended up choosing the simple shield with a banner behind it. Re-creating the shield I drew on paper in Adobe Illustrator did turn out to be a problem as I could not seem to find any shape that worked, but after a quick google search, I went with the red shape in the middle of the three circles (see B/W Ideas). I also created a banner to put behind the shield.
B/W Ideas
After I had a rough outline, I began to test different colors. I immediately fell in love with the two-tone blue designs. I decided on a light blue outside and a dark inside because I think it makes the "A" pop a little bit more.

Color Tests

I chose to use a shield because of the powerful connotations that it has behind it. It stands for stability, authority, and teamwork. I also decided to use a banner because it reminds me of a ribbon on a  medal that you might get after winning something. It portrays my competitiveness in sports or life in general.
The blues that I used represent my favorite soccer team's logo, (Sporting KC), but blue also stands for reliability and composure.
